Laugh for the fun of it!
Yes, indeed. It’s true what so many have said…”laughter is the best medicine.” It’s great for the soul and the well-being of our mind, body and spirit. In l995, Dr. Madan Kataria took this “medicine” seriously when he founded a practice called Laughter Yoga. Today, there are thousands of laughter classes held daily throughout the world; five thousand or more are in India alone.
I discovered Laughter Yoga in 2006 in Laguna Beach, CA. Jeffrey Briar is the founder of this group which still holds the distinction of being the only one that meets every day in the U.S. I immediately fell in love with the practice which has changed my life physically and emotionally. A month later I met Dr. Kataria at a weekend conference and became a certified laughter leader a month later. View my video here.
Laughter classes offer a powerful exercise program with a difference. It is a lot of fun, less time consuming, cost effective, and scientifically proven. Anyone can do it. Some specific health benefits include:
